Description
These are often called fairy eggs or witch's egg. They are often laid by young hens who are just coming into lay. The fairy eggs most often have no yolk. I think they're precious, so I just save them in a bowl on the counter. One (which had sat on the counter for months) had a slight crack, so I opened it up and found a gorgeous amber-like substance. The tiniest egg (in the right of the photo) is only about 1 1/2 inches long. The others are also small, none over about 2 inches long.
