Artist's Description

This image depicts my mother and daddy laying off the rows in the garden this spring. Daddy cultivates the garden with his tractor. Then Mother pulls this contraption behind her while walking down the rut made by the tractor tire. Daddy made the contraption from an old lawn mower handle and wheels, with a rod for an axle. As Mother walks down the rut, pulling the contraption behind her, the tires make a soft mark, indicating where the seeds should be dropped. Thus, when Daddy plows the garden later in the season, he can do so without disturbing the vegetables.
